Fulfilment

Issue # 17: Getting What We Want 24 January 2008

Hi

Welcome to our new, collaboratively created newsletter and, to our new subscribers, we hope you enjoy the journey with Fulfilment as we share with you every month a discerningly crafted collection of inspirational articles, practical how-tos and recommended reading in our book reviews.

While there's no practical reason for planning and setting goals at only the start of each new year, we've decided to go with this popular sentiment for the theme for our January newsletter. Of course, we only do this from a fresh angle! We don't believe planning and goal-setting to be events that produce once-off documents, but rather ongoing conversations about possibilities, purpose, philosophy and worthy objectives.

Planning is a process for making choices. Planning is not about what we'll have or do at some future time; it's about who we will be when the future arrives. With this approach, an organisation creates a readiness and flexibility to adapt at every level to ever-changing conditions.

So if your business is scanning the world it operates in as input to your planning conversation, a review of our first article is vital! Rochelle has compiled a summary of key trends for 2008. And don't forget the value of looking back to plot a better path going forward - read Corné's tips for building reflection into your learning and planning process

Michelle's how-to gives bite-sized steps on how we can align what we want with who we are by divining our authentic purpose, while Monita closes our newsletter with a review of Jack Canfield's book, How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.

We'd love to get your feedback on our expanded newsletter, authors and content. Just hit reply to this email, contact the authors directly (see associates' profiles on our web site) or call our office at 021 683 7575.

Or tell us how you're using goals by taking part in our quick poll below.

We'd love to have a conversation!

With the vast array of products available, transparency becomes more important in helping us make informed decisions.
